Highly coveted linebacker DQ Forkpa has officially set up his visit to Florida State for the Alabama game, according to sources close to the four-star prospect. Warchant previously reported that Forkpa was likely to visit, but the trip has now been locked in.

Forkpa is one of the only blue-chip recruits still uncommitted at this point, and Florida State is one of the top contenders.

According to the Rivals Industry Rankings, Forkpa is the 14th-ranked linebacker in the country. And following his recent transfer from IMG Academy to St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, he is now rated the seventh-best player in Maryland.

Forkpa was originally supposed to make a commitment on July 12, but that was moved back and a new date has yet to be decided. Prior to the delay, the Florida Gators were trending heavily in this recruitment, with five expert predictions in favor of the Gators.

However, the reason he remains uncommitted is strong pushes from both Michigan and Florida State.

As of now, it feels like the Gators are starting to fade a little in this recruitment, as the Seminoles and Wolverines continue to make Forkpa a top priority. Miami has also hung around as well.

With the recent commitment of Izayia Williams to Florida State, some speculated that the Seminoles’ push for Forkpa would decrease, but sources close to Forkpa tell us it has had no effect. And if anything, they say, it will only help FSU.

It also is likely that we see a commitment from the Peach State native in September.

If Florida State were to land Forkpa, it would not only cement one of the better linebacker classes in the country — with Forkpa, Williams, Karon Maycock and Caleb LaVallee — but it would also mark the first time the Seminoles land a class with two blue-chip linebackers since 2019 (Kalen DeLoach and Jaleel McRae.)
