Latest Bills injury report update including Tyler Bass, Khalil Shakir

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott provided his first injury update following his team's second preseason contest this past weekend against the Chicago Bears.

The Bills' report hasn't looked great this summer, but there was some good news.

During his press conference on Tuesday, McDermott noted that wide receiver Khalil Shakir is on track to be back for opening day of the regular season with his high-ankle sprain. Another wideout, Curtis Samuel (hamstring) returned for the first time in a long time.

The next name near the top of the list is kicker Tyler Bass (pelvis). Bass will be back even sooner as McDermott noted the hope is the kicker will play in the preseason finale on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Finally, first-round rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston is said to be a "ways away" still. His knee injury is still up in the air.
