Xabi Alonso yet to address the uncertain future of exit-linked Real Madrid star

With every passing day, Rodrygo Goes’ departure from Real Madrid becomes increasingly complicated. After all, the end of the summer transfer window is rapidly approaching.

Since the arrival of Xabi Alonso before the FIFA Club World Cup, the Brazilian star has barely seen any prominence after all and the signs around his situation are anything but promising.

In fact, he did not have minutes against Osasuna and saw the likes of Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, Gonzalo Garcia and even Franco Mastantuono get a run-in while he sat on the bench.

A paralysed situation

As relayed by Tiempo de Juego in a recent report, the player is still hopeful of turning his situation around and refuses to accept the new reality. He believes he can stay and fight for a place under Alonso.

The Spanish outlet also adds that Alonso has still not had a one-on-one conversation with Rodrygo since he took over the reins at the club and that no direct communication has taken place between the two parties.

While the manager insisted that he counts on Rodrygo in the post-match press conference, his decisions have not supported that idea.

Everything now depends on Rodrygo and the feelings he has about his situation. If he is not comfortable, he can force an exit this summer but he is not considering it at the moment.

In fact, even Real Madrid have not openly asked him to leave according to the same outlet.

Los Blancos do not want to sell the Brazilian this summer and will thus not push him out. Should the winger himself arrive with a good financial offer and request to leave, however, they will open the doors and facilitate his departure.

The coming weeks will be key, and a lot will be known after Real Madrid’s clash against Real Oviedo next weekend.
