A new transfer saga is unfolding for Cameroonian international Karl Etta Eyong. Recent reports have revealed that negotiations have officially commenced between Scottish powerhouse Glasgow Rangers and Spanish club Villarreal for the striker's signature.

A new experience is on the horizon

Highly sought-after during this summer transfer window, Eyong appears to be on the verge of a new challenge. The initial approach from the Glasgow-based club was a proposal for a season-long loan deal. However, this offer was promptly turned down by the Yellow Submarine's board.

Discussions have now pivoted towards arranging a permanent move. Talks are currently centered around a bid believed to be in the region of €5 million. Villarreal has deemed this figure insufficient for a player they are reluctant to lose and are holding out for a larger fee to sanction his departure. Dialogues are ongoing as both parties work towards a potential agreement.

The 22-year-old's potential is underscored by his performances last season. While he made four first-team appearances for Villarreal, finding the net once, his most prolific form was displayed with the reserve team, where he scored an impressive 19 goals in just 30 matches. Currently valued at €5 million by Transfermarkt, Eyong is under contract with the La Liga side until June 2027.
