Report: Golden State Warriors still believe they will sign Boston Celtics big Al Horford

The Dubs are reportedly 'very confident'.

The Golden State Warriors still believe they will sign Boston Celtics big man alum Al Horford once they finish resolving their current restricted free agency situation with forward Jonathan Kuminga, per recent reporting from Bleacher Report NBA analyst Jake Fischer. Speaking in a recent episode of the "NBA Insider Notebook," Fischer relates (h/t the Dallas Hoops Journal's Ashish Mathur) that "the Warriors still remain very confident that Al Horford is waiting for whatever finality will come to Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency with Golden State."

"Depending on where the Warriors land in cap tax situation, I believe (Horford) is slated to potentially make upwards of the full taxpayer mid-level exception," the Bleacher Report analyst said.

"There has also been some discussion about whether or not he could potentially be receiving a two-year deal with a player option on his deal as well."

Horford is widely seen as all but certain to leave the Celtics organization whether he ends up signing with the Dubs or not, with retirement reportedly still on the table for the University of Florida alum.

But if he does sign with the Dubs, Boston fans will be monitoring that player option should it pan out as such, with the potential to reunite with the Celtics once they return to contention a possibility through it, albeit an unlikely one.
