Two Florida Players Receive Preseason Honor

The Florida standouts received their flowers.

The Florida Gators managed an 8-5 record in 2024 despite having one of the more challenging schedules in the country.

It was a massive achievement for head coach Billy Napier, who had not had a winning season at Florida up until that point. The 33-8 win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl was also his first postseason win.

Recruits responded positively, as Florida secured a top-10 class in the 2025 cycle via On3 Sports.

Four-star receiver Dallas Wilson and four-star edge rusher Jayden Woods were two of Florida's top commits from the class. On Tuesday, they were both featured in the On3 2025 True Freshman Preseason All-American team.

Wilson was one of three wide receivers to make the list, while Woods was one of two.

Florida is looking ahead to the 2028 class, with the recruitment of receiver Brysen Wright. Wright was recently named the top prospect in his class by Rivals. He is a four-star prospect out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Gators (21.9%) are in the lead based on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, followed by the Florida State Seminoles (19.2%) and Georgia Bulldogs (16.5%).

Florida is also looking into recruits who are already committed from the 2026 class. The Gators are working on scheduling a visit with Texas Longhorns defensive lineman commit James Johnson, the top player at his position for his class.

Year four of the Napier era begins on August 30, as Florida faces Long Island.
