Indy car paying tribute to late broadcaster Bob Uecker at Milwaukee Mile avoids Uecker seat

A decal on Jacob Abel's car pays tribute to Brewers legend Bob Uecker and his "I must be in the front row!" line. Abel won't start there at the Mile.

IndyCar rookie Jacob Abel’s car carries a Miller Lite livery for the Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 that includes a tribute to late Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker.

Above the engine, the bodywork carries the quote made famous in Uecker's Lite commercial apparances: "I must be in the front row!"

The car of Jacob Abel sits on pit road before practice Saturday, August 23, 2025, for the NTT IndyCar Series Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 at the Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Abel avoided the Uecker seat in the lineup for the race, set for 1:20 p.m. Aug. 24, but he’s also far from the actual front row in the lineup.

Abel qualified 24th of 27 drivers and with grid penalties to drivers ahead of him will start on the 11th row.

Alex Palou, who already wrapped up his fourth championship, will start on the pole with David Malukas alongside.
