Stephanie Han retains WBA lightweight title with unanimous decision win vs. Paulina Angel

El Paso's Stephanie Han retains WBA lightweight title with unanimous decision win vs. Paulina Angel. The scores were 98-91, 98-91, 98-91.

El Paso pro boxer Stephanie Han retained her World Boxing Association lightweight title with a 10-round, unanimous decision win over Colombia's Paulina Angel.

The fight on Saturday, Aug. 23, which aired on DAZN, was held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Han dealt with plenty of adversity in the fight. She was knocked down in the first round with a right hand and suffered a cut on the forehead in the fourth.

However, Han was the more accurate boxer most of the night. She landed several left hooks and was busier than Angel.

Angel proved to be a worthy opponent; she was aggressive and landed her fair share of good right hands.

Stephanie Han, an El Paso boxer recently signed to Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, shadowboxes on Wednesday, June 25, at Pal Boxing Club in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as she trains for an upcoming August fight in Orlando, Florida.

Han won 98-91 on all three scorecards.

Han is now 11-0 in her career, Angel is 7-2-2. Han made her first defense of her WBA title that she won in February with a first-round knockout of Hannah Terlep.

"Stephanie fought well; she was the better boxer," Han's trainer, Louie Burke, said. "She kept the fight in the middle of the ring."
