The San Francisco 49ers have a bit of a type.
Two of the wide receivers recently added by the 'Niners have another team in common: the Kansas City Chiefs.
Skyy Moore and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have pasts with the Chiefs and are now heading to the Bay Area.
Moore came in a trade, while MVS signed after cutdown day.
Both could be important in the early going, because the 49ers are shorthanded.
Brandon Aiyuk and Jacob Cowing are both out for extended periods of time.
Jauan Jennings and Jordan Watkins are hurt, too.

Ricky Pearsall is the unquestioned WR1 for Week 1, and beyond him, there are a lot of question marks.
Valdes-Scantling was just a signing for the practice squad, but at this rate, there's a decent chance he gets elevated for the season opener against the Seahawks.
It'll be all (healthy) hands on deck for the 49ers just to make it through their first few games.
Brock Purdy just got the big money contract this offseason, but that's only useful if he has players to throw to.

George Kittle is healthy, at least, knock on wood. He'll surely get a big receiving role early, as will star running back Christian McCaffrey, who is also healthy, for now, knock on wood.
If everyone heals up eventually, it'll be a great thing.
For now, the 49ers are relying more on discarded Chiefs than they may have planned on.
