I know UW fans would love to see the team come out clicking on all cylinders, but it doesn’t seem to go that way for the Badgers in these early-season matchups. That will be especially challenging given all the changes coach Luke Fickell and his staff have made. Look for the Badgers’ defense to set the tone in a solid win at home. Wisconsin 38, Miami 13.

I don’t think anyone doubts that Wisconsin can beat Miami (Ohio). The question will be how Wisconsin beats Miami. Western Michigan had a fourth-quarter lead last year in Week 1, which did not exactly inspire confidence at the start of UW’s 5-7 season. The RedHawks have a lot of incoming offensive talent from the transfer portal, but this is a game where the Badgers could and should be able to pull away. Wisconsin 32, Miami (Ohio) 13
