Montgomery Academy athletes take clean sweep in Montgomery Advertiser's Vance Law Firm athletes of the week

See who won the Montgomery Advertiser's athlete of the week poll from last week, sponsored by the Vance Law Firm.

Results are in for this week's Montgomery Advertiser's boys and girls athlete of the week polls, sponsored by The Vance Law Firm.

It was a clean sweep for Montgomery Academy athletes in 2025's first poll with Jarrett Friendly winning the boys poll, and Rehmat Sidhu winning the girls poll.

Friendly won the boys poll after receiving 36% of the votes, narrowly beating Pike Road football players Jordan Holmes (24%) and Braylon Outlaw (22%).

Friendly caught five passes for 171 yards and two receiving touchdowns in Montgomery Academy's 59-3 blowout upset over Tallassee on Aug. 22. Friendly averaged 34.2 yards per catch in the contest.

Sidhu ran away with the girls poll, grabbing 94% of the votes. Montgomery Academy currently sits at 6-1 with Sidhu playing a big role in that early success. The junior setter contributed 29 assists throughout the week of Aug. 21-23.
