It has been a tough ride for Ruben Amorim in charge of Man United as the Red Devils suffered a shock defeat against League Two team Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round on penalties.
The hosts took a 2-0 lead in the first half but United pulled the game back in the second half with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire to force penalties.
Eventually, after both teams took 13 penalties each, a miss from Mbuemo in sudden death meant Grimsby progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Amorim looked completely shattered during the post-game interview where he spoke how his players weren't at their best on the field.
There were also speculations around the Portuguese manager handing his resignation after massive outrage from fans after the catastrophic defeat.
However, later several reports suggested that the Man United hierarchy are ready to back the Portuguese amid all adversities.

Recently, United legend Wayne Rooney also highlighted alarming concerns regarding Amorim and the current Red Devils setup.
“The biggest concern is the manager’s words after the game were damning on the players," Rooney told on BBC's The Wayne Rooney Show.
"Being in a position where I've been in that dressing room, if your manager comes out with those words, there’s something broken."
What did Rooney say about Man United manager Ruben Amorim?
Amorim received a lot of flak for his rigidity in tactics especially due to the implementation of his preferred 3-4-3 formation in a game against a fourth division side.
His post-game interview also went viral where he looked completely devastated and Rooney feels the Portuguese manager is under unimaginable pressure, something that he hasn't faced anywhere else.
"There's something not right. That's clear. The manager said that after the game and that's clear for everyone to see. Even though it's only three games into the season it's getting to a point where it's like, 'what is going on?'
"The problem we've got now is who would want to take it [manager's job]? Which is crazy to say. You've got one of the biggest clubs in the world and you're probably just sitting there thinking... not now.
"We forget he's 40, he's a young manager. Manchester United is so different to where he's been before. There's the media team, the commercial team, the fans, it's completely different. There's a pressure with United which he will never have felt before. When you're not winning games, that starts to get to you. It looks like this was a breaking point for him."
The Red Devils will be eager to shake off the disappointment from mid-week cup tie as they host newly promoted Burnley at home in the Premier League seeking their first win of the season.
