We don’t love the way that broadcasters now publish the team news an hour and 15 minutes before kick off in the Premier League now – it makes the wait for kick off even longer and there’s often little to talk about.

That’s not the case at Chelsea today, where TNT Sport have spotted Alejandro Garnacho in the crowd at Stamford Bridge, also impatiently awaiting kick off.

The Manchester United winger’s move to the Blues is not yet confirmed – but clearly it may as well be.

The team could actually do with him today. Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson are not in the team ahead of their potential moves away, but Garnacho isn’t signed yet, leaving our bench quite weak today.

You can see Garnacho in his trendy long sleeved t shirt in the clip embedded here:

Garnacho ready to contribute right away

Estevao Willian and Pedro Neto start today, with Jamie Gittens and Tyrique George ready on the bench.

But with Cole Palmer out injured and both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro starting, there’s not much else there to change the game if we’re struggling.

George scored a season changing goal against Fulham last season – perhaps we can hope for more of the same.

Interestingly, he also looks set to leave Chelsea, further weakening our attacking options.

While adding Garnacho to the bench would bring some quality, with Cole Palmer out we still feel a little short now that Jackson and Nkunku, two relatively experienced top level performers, are gone. At this stage, it feels unlikely that the Argentine is the final attacking piece added before the deadline.

Things would look a lot better with Xavi Simons on the bench…
