Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall revealed that Northwestern prevented the Green Wave from wearing their white jerseys in honor of the 2005 Tulane team that wore them in their first game after Hurricane Katrina.
“When you disrespect the city of New Orleans, you’re going to run into it. … I’m not trying to be a jerk but don’t disrespect the City of New Orleans,” he said.
Tulane rolled Northwestern 23-3 to open the season 1-0.
