Dancers from Wyke Sixth Form College will cheerlead for Hull KR at Las Vegas' Allegiant stadium.
Dancers at a college are "buzzing" after it was announced that they would be swapping their studies in Hull to perform under the bright lights of Las Vegas.
The students from Wyke Sixth Form College will be dancing as part of the Super League match between Hull Kingston Rovers and Leeds Rhinos at the Allegiant Stadium in February.
The group, which won bronze at this year's national championship, perform a range of styles including contemporary and jazz.
Scarlett, 17, said: "I'm literally buzzing. I never thought I'd get the chance to do something like this in my life."
"There's so many girls that dance every night of the week and they come to college everyday and dance. They've all got so much talent," she added.
The course at the college has more than 100 dancers but just 25 will be travelling to the United States for the event which will see them learn routines alongside NFL cheerleaders.
Mia, 17, described the moment she found out about the trip as "the best feeling ever" and said she was "lost for words".
"The hard work starts now. We've got loads of rehearsals to do for this and we've also got to train for our competitions. It's an amazing place to be," she added.
The cheerleaders will take part in a series in events as part of the five-day trip to promote the sport of rugby league.
In addition to the clash between Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos, thousands of fans will take in Australian NRL matches between the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and St George Illawarra Dragons and the Newcastle Knights and North Queensland Cowboys.
The students from Hull will perform on the pitch as part of the matchday experience.
Laura Bulless, the college's head of a dance, drama and performing arts, said: "It's been a big build up of emotions. But seeing their faces and seeing how happy they are, that's made my day."
