Manchester United bounced back from their humiliating derby defeat with a crucial 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro put the hosts 2-0 ahead following Robert Sanchez’s red card in the 5th minute.
But the Brazilian also received his marching orders on the stroke of half-time for his second yellow card.
Trevoh Chalobah halved the deficit with an 80th-minute header, but United held on to claim a much-needed win.
A BIG #PL win 🙌

Here are five things we learned from the Red Devils’ victory at Old Trafford.
Maguire justifies his place
Fans were surprised when Leny Yoro wasn’t on the starting team sheet, with Ruben Amorim opting to feature Harry Maguire in central defence. But the England international repaid the faith of his manager by putting in an assured display.
Maguire won 100 per cent of his aerial duels and assisted Casemiro’s goal. He had 49 touches and completed 83 per cent of his passes. The experienced defender has made a strong case for another starting berth next weekend when United travel to Brentford.
Man Utd team fully behind Amorim
Amorim’s future at Old Trafford remained a subject of speculation over the past week following the club’s poor start to the season. There had been suggestions that the players were not happy with the Portuguese boss.
However, Saturday’s crucial victory made it clear that the team is fully behind Amorim. All the players put in their best efforts that led to two goals in the first half. While their levels dropped after the break, overall it was a good display from the Manchester giants.
Amad continues to struggle
Amad Diallo has been far from convincing with his performances this season. The Ivorian struggled to make an impact in the 3-0 loss to City, and also failed to offer much this weekend against Chelsea.
Amad found himself dithering and overthinking about his shot or final pass in critical areas of the pitch on Saturday. He could not win any of his aerials and lost possession of the ball on eight occasions.
No place for Mainoo
Kobbie Mainoo put in a brilliant display at the Etihad Stadium against City last week, and many expected Amorim to start the young midfielder against the Blues. But the Portuguese head coach brought in Casemiro to partner Fernandes in midfield.
Amorim’s selection paid off as both midfielders scored against Chelsea. But Mainoo must not have been happy with a peripheral role once again. The 20-year-old has not started once in United’s five Premier League matches so far this season.
