Kyrie Irving, his doctors and his rehab team are doing something highly impressive.
As Duke and NBA fans know, Kyrie Irving went down on March 3rd of last year, in a game against the Sacramento Kings, with an ACL injury.
He turned 33 20 days after that injury and of course as you get older, it’s not easy for an athlete to recover from a serious injury. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that Irving reports his recovery/rehab is going very well.
Irving told the Dallas Hoop Journal that he’s “healing up great” and the Mavericks GM, Nico Harrison, said that he is “ahead of schedule.”
Five months in and Irving is back in the gym, working on his game. He’s still a long ways from getting back on the court but working on his game already? Much like his game, that’s spectacular.
