Wilson, who also won the award in 2020, 2022, and 2024, had been tied with Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Lauren Jackson as three-time MVPs. ESPN was first to break the news.
The 29-year-old Wilson, who was also named co-Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week, averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.3 blocks this season. She guided the Aces to a 30–14 record and the No. 2 playoff seed. After a sluggish start, Las Vegas closed the regular season on a 16-game winning streak, tied for the second-longest run in WNBA history.
Along the way, Wilson claimed her second consecutive scoring title and finished second in rebounding, fourth in steals, and first in blocks. She had 13 30-point games this season, the most ever in a single season in WNBA history.
The Aces are looking to make another Finals run after holding off the Seattle Storm. They will face the Indiana Fever on Sunday in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals.
