The San Francisco 49ers have been bitten by the injury bug early on this season and wide receiver Jauan Jennings hasn't been immune to that.

Jennings has been on the injury report in each of the first three weeks to start the season, but he was able to suit up in the first two contests.

However, Jennings did not practice at all this week thanks to ankle and shoulder injuries and is questionable to play.

Here's what we know about Jennings' status for the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Is Jauan Jennings playing today?

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jennings will not play on Sunday against the Cardinals, which is just the latest blow to San Fran's pass-catchers group.

"Sources: 49ers WR Jauan Jennings, listed as questionable for today’s game vs. the Cardinals due to shoulder and ankle injuries, will not play and will be out," he reported on Sunday morning.

With Jennings sidelined, the 49ers are now without three key pass-catchers, a list that also includes Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.

Kittle was placed on injured reserve last week due to a hamstring injury and will miss at least two more games after Week 3.

Aiyuk remains on the PUP list as he continues to recover from a torn ACL and MCL suffered last season and that means he'll be out through Week 4.

Adding to those injuries, the 49ers are also without quarterback Brock Purdy, who is dealing with a toe injury. Purdy appears to have been close to playing this week, so it's reasonable to assume he could return in Week 4.
