What are the most memorable games of the 2025 Red Sox season?

Which of these games do you remember?

It’s been my first season writing for OTM, and it’s been an honor and a privilege breaking down the games and talking Sox. I thought it’d be fun to go back through the games I wrote about and give them some superlatives!

Most Fun Game: 6/30 against the Twins

This was during that super entertaining run right before the All-Star break when the Sox were especially hot; they beat the Twins 13-1 in Minnesota and played a super clean game of baseball that secured them the series win.

Crappiest Game Overall: 9/3 against the Guardians

This was a bad bullpen game that the Sox had lost by the second inning. No joy there.

Most Surprising Win: 7/23 against the Phillies

We were primed to get swept, but a Romy Gonzalez go-ahead grand slam turned the tables. The Phillies tied it back up, but the Sox were able to come out on top, even as the visiting team in extra innings. It felt great to get that win after the yuckiness that was the rest of that series.

Worst Ending: 4/30 against the Blue Jays

This was Giolito’s season debut game, and he’d been doing really well…until the sixth inning, when he gave up two home runs, and our lovable Garrett Whitlock added to the damage. The Red Sox then got walked off by the later that night. It had been a very winnable game, and then it wasn’t. It was among the first of the several one-run losses the Sox have had this season. Big stinky.

Most Exciting Walk-Off: 6/4 against the Angels

Ceddanne Rafaela was just starting to go on his Linsanity run and clubbed a walk-off two-run Pesky Pole homer in the bottom of the ninth. The game had been going all over the place scoreboard wise, so it was great to see the Sox get the dub. The win also prevented an Angels sweep at Fenway.

Weirdest Win: 6/18 against the Mariners

We won 3-1 on 3 hits, in Seattle no less. A Marcelo Mayer home run and a Trevor Story two-run knock were all it took. Crochet was pitching, which helps explain how we got the victory despite so little offensive production.

I still have one more regular season game to cover, and then hopefully I’ll be covering Wednesday games in the postseason!
