Football: TCU ranked No. 24 in Week 5 AP Poll

The Horned Frogs are in the AP Top 25 for first time since the 2023 preseason poll

With a 3-0 start to the season following a 35-24 win over the SMU Mustangs, TCU Football has been ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll ahead of Week 5. It is the Horned Frogs first appearance in the AP Top 25 since ranking No. 17 in the 2023 preseason poll.

TCU has received votes in each poll this season, picking up enough votes to climb from 30th last week and into the Top 25. The Frogs were ranked as high as No. 17, on the ballot of Michael Lev of the Arizona Daily Star, but were omitted from the ballot of 26 voters. The Big 12 places four teams in the Top 25, with the Horned Frogs joined by Texas Tech (12), Iowa State (14), and BYU (25), with Utah, Arizona State, and UCF each receiving votes. The Horned Frogs will open its 2025 conference on Friday night in Tempe, AZ vs. the Sun Devils who are already 1-0 in league play after a road win at Baylor on Saturday.
