The Chiefs won’t go 0-3, will they? Will they?!!
The last time Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes faced off against each other on a Sunday night was in 2018, when first-year starter Mahomes was outdueled by Russ in a memorable 38-31 victory for the Seattle Seahawks over the Kansas City Chiefs. That was a true masterclass by Wilson and a great gameplan by Brian Schottenheimer, who would definitely not piss anyone off with his gameplan about two weeks later.
Since that classic, Mahomes has won three Super Bowls and been to five, while Wilson has one playoff win and is on his third team post-Seahawks trade. Wilson turned back the clock last week against the Dallas Cowboys, albeit in a losing effort, while Mahomes is in unfamiliar territory after the Chiefs stumbled to an 0-2 start. Can the Giants shock the world and send KC into 0-3? Russell Wilson has never, ever lost at MetLife Stadium, so his personal undefeated record is on the line here.
NBC has the kickoff at 5:20 pm PT. No word on whether or not Taylor Swift will be there, so sorry if you were looking for an update while clicking through to this open thread.
