Travis Hunter Tracker: Jaguars rookie plays more on defense, works in special-teams snaps

How many plays on offense and defense did Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter play against the Houston Texans?

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter had another busy day on Sept. 21 in a 17-10 victory over the Houston Texans.

Hunter had 41 snaps on defense and 35 on offense, the first time this season he had more plays on defense. It's also where he made a career-high six tackles, four unassisted.

Hunter continues to struggle to find a consistent role on offense. He had only one reception but it was at least for a career-high 21 yards and it converted a first-and-20 after a holding penalty on tackle Walker Little. Hunter has 10 receptions for 54 yards for the season.

"They called my number," Hunter said. " They gave me the ball, and I did what I always do. I do my job."

Hunter made two good defensive plays in particular. When Houston drove to a first down at the Jaguars 15-yard line in the second quarter, quarterback C.J. Stroud faced a third-and-four at the Jacksonville 9. Stroud wanted to go to Nico Collins in the corner of the end zone but Hunter had him well-covered and Stroud had to check down to tighht end Dalton Schultz. The pass was incomplete.

Later in the second period, Stroud got the ball to Collins in the open field but Hunter made a textbook tackle to hold him to a 6-yard gain when there was plenty of room to run, had Hunter missed the tackle.
