Miami (OH) commit Tommy Carr totals 9 TDs in record-setting win

The Saline Hornets (Mich.) have rushed out to a 4-0 start to the 2025 season and in their latest win, a 61-34 victory over the Dexter Dreadnaughts, quarterback Tommy Carr was able to set numerous school and state records.

Last week, the Miami (Ohio) commitment threw for over 500 yards and accounted for nine touchdowns in the victory over the Dreadnaughts for the Hornets as Carr set multiple school records and moved the needle on his place in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) record books.

In the fourth straight win of the season for Saline, Carr unofficially per The Sun Times News, threw for 508 yards as the Miami pledge moved up into of the top 15 passers in the state when it comes to yardage. The 500-plus yards set a new school record and with the eight passing scores, tied Carr for second in MHSAA history for passing touchdowns in a single game.

The senior quarterback also added a score on the ground, which leaves him third all-time for total touchdowns (9) for a single game in the MHSAA record books. Carr finished the game against Dexter completing 27 of 31 passes, accounting for 525 yards of offense.

Next time Carr and the Hornets will take the field and look to set more records is Friday night when they take on Monroe (1-3).
