Manchester United fans revealed their true feelings for Alejandro Garnacho on Saturday.

Former hero

The winger broke through at United in 2022 after scoring two goals in the FA Youth Cup final.

He impressed under Erik ten Hag in his debut season in the first team in 2022/2023.

Garnacho was also a fan favourite in 2023-2024, scoring the opening goal in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

The Argentine struggled last season though and fell out with Ruben Amorim after comments he made after the Europa League final. As a result, the head coach informed him that he had no future at the club.

Garnacho alienated fans not just with his poor attitude but also his insistence to only move to Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer when he had options abroad like Bayern Munich.

Frosty reception

Garnacho did not make it onto the pitch against United at Old Trafford but he still received a cold reception from the United fanbase.

The Red Devils usually welcome former players and managers back with open arms but Garnacho’s welcome was of a rather different tone.

The Sun report that “United supporters let rip at their former star, Alejandro Garnacho, dishing out a savage chant as he returned to Old Trafford with Chelsea.”

The article states that “the same ruthless taunt aimed at Carlos Tevez when he made the move from United to their cross-city rivals, Manchester City, in 2009, was unleashed on Garnacho.”

“The fans were in full voice, chanting: “Who’s that t*** from Argentina? Who’s that money-grabbing w****?”

The chant went on, “Garnacho is his name and he hasn’t got a brain, and he won’t be winning trophies any more!”

United are currently not scheduled to face Garnacho on the pitch again until April when the Red Devils travel to Stamford Bridge towards the end of the season.
