The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has taken a decisive step in recruiting the new coach who will lead the "Palancas Negras" national team into the next phase.According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, French tactician Patrice Beaumelle (47) is on the verge of signing a contract to succeed Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves, who was dismissed three months before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.Gonçalves came under fire after Angola's defeat to Libya (0-1) last September, despite clinching a win against Mauritius (3-1) five days later, especially after Angola lost all hope of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
