Marseille threatens the LFP ahead of OM-PSG
Although PSG wanted to reschedule the match to avoid any clash with the Ballon d’Or ceremony—which could see some of its stars like Dembélé or Hakimi honored—OM was adamant about playing on the new date. The Marseille club relied on Article 548 of the League’s competition rules, which allows a match to be resumed the next day in the event of a weather-related interruption, with the League setting the new kick-off time.According to L’Équipe, OM threatened to take legal action if any other date was chosen. Despite a congested calendar, the League opted to follow the regulations, thereby strengthening Marseille’s legal position. The Classique will be played tonight at the Vélodrome Stadium at 19:00 GMT.
