The Boston Celtics may go all in on a rebuild with this blockbuster hypothetical trade.

The Boston Celtics won the lottery when they drafted Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown with the third overall pick in back-to-back years.
Both these players have developed into All-Stars and led the team to a championship in 2023.
Unfortunately, Tatum will likely be out this upcoming season, leaving Brown without him for the first time since they stepped on the court together.
If Boston wants to get crazy, it can avoid that situation by dealing one of their superstars to another Eastern Conference team in a hypothetical trade proposed by Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz.
“A 40-42 record wasn't much to get excited about for the Atlanta Hawks last season, although there were some real bright spots that should inspire confidence for 2025-26,” Swartz said Thursday.
“Jaylen Brown would be the ideal fit as the starting small forward, a four-time All-Star and NBA Finals MVP who's in the prime of his career at age 28.”

The full trade has Brown landing in his hometown, suiting up for the Atlanta Hawks, while Boston receives Zaccharie Risacher, Jalen Johnson, and a first-round pick.
Brown would reunite with Kristaps Porziņģis and complete a great offseason for the Hawks, while Boston gets three high-value pieces in return.
Brown is an elite defender in himself, but pairing him up with Dyson Daniels would give other teams nightmares.
Boston could give former first overall pick Risacher the keys to the franchise in just his second year.
With Johnson also being a 20 points per game guy, they would have three talented, athletic wings when Tatum returns.
A trade this big may be hard to pull off, but it would absolutely shake up the league.
