Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka has been as advertised through the opening three weeks of the NFL season, as he has already developed into a go-to weapon for Baker Mayfield.

With 14 receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns, the former Ohio State Buckeye has been a dominant force for Josh Grizzard's unit, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

All offseason, we heard of Emeka's intelligence when it came to his route running and understanding what concepts Grizzard wanted to run, and now that we are all seeing it come together in such a way, the Buccaneers appear to have gotten a steal in the draft.

And here comes Todd Bowles with quite the statement on No. 2.

“Right now, we don't even consider him a rookie," Bowles said. "He's been doing it so much in practice, and the details of his work that we had kind of expected from him here in the building. I think outside everybody seeing it for the first time. [If] he can do that or 16, 17 weeks, we'll be happy.”

Egbuka set to be Buccaneers' No. 1 weapon

With Chris Godwin still on the comeback trail from his ankle injury, and now that Mike Evans is dealing with a hamstring injury, and his status for Week 4 is in doubt, the rookie who isn't seen as a rookie in Egbuka might be called upon to shoulder a big offensive load.

Granted, he did it against the New York Jets once Evans exited the field, and with the Philadelphia Eagles up next, Emeka might have to put on the Superman cape for Grizzard's offense.

Through three weeks, Egbuka has been superb, and now he might have to carry the passing game in just his fourth NFL game, and based on what we've seen already, he'll likely do it with ease.
