Why did Jameson Williams change to jersey number 1?
Jameson Williams also wore No. 1 in college at Alabama, and he chose to go back to it when given the opportunity.
Williams previously wore No. 9.
The Lions' previous No. 1 was Maurice Alexander, who left for the Chicago Bears.
Williams got first dibs over Jahmyr Gibbs, who chose No. 0. Both had worn No. 1 at Alabama, but they didn't overlap with the Crimson Tide.
