Bavarian Loan Works: New loanees added, one loan deal denied

We catch up with the loanees’ action over the last few weeks.

Since the international break, Bayern Munich loanees have been busy. We have three new names to add and one to take right back off. Also, there were a few goals and assists scored and recorded by the loanees over the last couple weeks. See who scored, who played in Europe and who will play in Europe this week.

FC Bayern Munich

There are nine players from on loan from the first team.

Germany – Bundesliga

There are four players on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Daniel Peretz, and Armando Sieb.

Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart

Nübel and Stuttgart’s struggles to begin the season last weekend when they took on Freiburg on the road. Though they had a 1-0 lead at halftime, the wheels fell off late in the game. Between the 81st and 90th minutes, the home team scored three quick goals to take the lead and win at home. Nübel had three saves in the 3-1 loss.

Nübel was in goal this weekend for a home match against St. Pauli. He again had three saves, but the difference in this match was that the three saves were enough to get a shutout. Stuttgart scored two goals to earn a 2-0 home win.

Stuttgart will host Celta Vigo on Thursday in their Europa League opener. They will take on FC Köln on the road on Sunday in Bundesliga play.

Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim

Ibrahimović started for Heidenheim against Dortmund. His team went down a man due to a red card in the 21st minute and had a big hill to climb. He had one shot, which was on goal from long range, but saved. He also created two chances for his teammates to shoot and completed 85% of his passes. He was subbed out in the 81st minute down 2-0, which was the final score.

This weekend — still looking for their first Bundesliga points — Heidenheim went to Hamburg to face HSV. Ibrahimovic started again and had three shots on goal, but all three were saved again. He also created two chances for his teammates to shoot, but his efforts were not enough as his team was down 2-0 when he left the match in the 76th minute. A late consolation goal was not enough for Heidenheim to get a point, and they fell again 2-1.

Heidenheim will host Augsburg in Bundesliga play on Saturday.

Daniel Peretz – Hamburger SV

Peretz was on the bench for HSV’s 5-0 loss in Munich last weekend. Perhaps Bayern putting five goals past Fernandez made HSV think about giving Peretz a chance, but he remained on the bench for the match against Ibrahimovic and Heidenheim. HSV earned their first Bundesliga win since 2018.

HSV will travel to Berlin to face Union Berlin on Sunday.

Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05

Sieb started on the bench for Mainz at home against Leipzig last weekend. He came into the match in the 65th minute with his team down 1-0. He had one shot inside the box but was blocked. He also created a chance for his teammates to shoot. Sieb’s efforts were not enough to help his team find a goal and they fell 1-0.

This weekend, Mainz travelled to face Augsburg. Sieb started and got the goals going for Mainz with a goal in the 14th minute. His teammates added two more goals and went down a man before Sieb scored the fourth and final goal for Mainz. On the day he had four shot attempts and created a chance for his teammates to shoot. Sieb was subbed off in the 81st minute, up 4-0. Augsburg added a late goal and the match ended 4-1.

Mainz will host Dortmund on Saturday.

England – Premier League

There are two player on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.

João Palhinha — Tottenham Hotspur

Palhinha started and played the full 90 minutes for Spurs on the road to cross-town rivals West Ham United last weekend. He had three shots — one blocked and two off target — and completed 91% of his passes. Spurs led at half time before an second half red card gave them a man advantage. Tottenham took advantage and scored two more goals to win away 3-0.

Last Tuesday, Spurs returned to the Champions League as last season’s Europa League winners. They hosted Villareal and took an early lead through a fourth minute own goal. Palhinha started on the bench and came into the match in the 69th minute, as they still held onto that 1-0 lead. He took one shot from the top of the box, but missed, but did not need to add much more. Spurs held onto the lead to win 1-0 to start off their Champions League campaign.

Spurs travelled to face Brighton & Hove Albion. Palhinha was back in the starting lineup and played the full 90 minutes again. He completed 91% of his passes but did not have a shot attempt, nor did he create any chances for his teammates to shoot. Tottenham was down 2-0 in the first half but came back and earned a 2-2 draw thanks to a late own goal.

Tottenham will host Doncaster Rovers of England’s third division in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. They will also host Wolverhampton on Saturday in Premier League play.

Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham

Kusi-Asare was a late loan addition to another Premier League team in London. He has yet to make his debut for Fulham, but scored a goal for the Swedish U21 team against Armenia this month.

Fulham will host Cambridge United of England’s fourth division in the EFL Cup on Tuesday — which could be a good time for his debut. They will also travel to face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spain – La Liga

Bryan Zaragoza is the only player on loan to Spain’s La Liga.

Bryan Zaragoza – Celta Vigo

Zaragoza started on the bench for Celta Vigo last week as they took on Girona at home. He came into the match in the 60th minute with his team down 1-0. He completed all but one pass, but had just 15 touches in the 30+ minutes. Celta Vigo scored a late penalty — which funny enough was conceded by former Bayern man, Daley Blind — to salvage a home draw.

Celta Vigo was on the road to Rayo Vallecano this weekend, where Zaragoza got the start. He had two shots on goal — one from outside the box and one just inside. He was subbed off after 79 minutes with the match level at 1-1. Neither team found another goal and Celta Vigo had to settle for their fifth straight draw.

Celta Vigo will start their Europa League campaign with a trip to visit Nübel and Stuttgart. They will also be on the road to face Elche in league play on Sunday.

Switzerland – Super League

Lovro Zvonarek is the only player on loan from the first team to the Swiss Super League.

Lovro Zvonarek – Grasshopper

Zvonarek was not in the matchday squad for Grasshopper’s 3-1 win last weekend, in which his fellow loanee tore it up! (see below)

Grasshopper faced second division foe Bellinzona in the second round of the Swiss Cup this weekend. There was not much information available on this match, even on the club’s website. I cannot even tell if Zvonarek was in the lineup or not. What was available is that they won 1-0 to advance to the Round of 16.

Grasshopper will face Lugano on the road on Saturday.

Germany – 2. Bundesliga

There are two players from the first team on loan to the 2. Bundesliga: Maurice Krattenmacher and Tarek Buchman.

Maurice Krattenmacher – Hertha BSC

Hertha BSC travelled to face then league leaders, Hannover 96, last weekend, looking for their first win of the season. Krattenmacher was on the bench and saw his team go up 2-0 before coming in in the 87th minute. He only had one touch during his time on the field, but saw his team get a third goal in stoppage time to win 3-0.

Hertha played at home on Saturday against SC Paderborn. Krattenmacher was again on the bench, and came into the match in the 60th minute, shortly after Paderborn scored a goal to go up 2-0. In the 30 minutes on the pitch he had a shot on goal, but it was from about 40 yards out. He also had a chance created, but could not help his team find a goal. Hertha fell 2-0 at home.

Hertha will travel to Bavaria to face 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday.

Tarek Buchman – 1. FC Nürnberg

Buchman has picked up a foot injury and has missed the last two matches — a 2-1 loss on the road t0 Karlsruher SC and a 2-1 home win against Bochum. He is estimated to be out until early October and will likely miss the clash against fellow loanee Krattenmacher and Hertha this weekend.

FC Bayern Munich II

There are seven players on loan from the second team.

Germany – 2. Bundesliga

There are two players on loan from the second team in the 2. Bundesliga: Noel Aseko and Paul Scholl.

Noel Aseko – Hannover 96

As mentioned, Hannover was leading the league going into last weekend and the match against Hertha. Aseko started and played 69 minutes. He had one shot — which was blocked at the top of the box — and created one chance for his teammates to shoot. Hannover was shutout at home in this match and eventually fell 3-0.

Hannover’s woes continued this weekend with a tough trip to face Dynamo Dresden. Aseko started and played only the first half, but made the most of it. Shortly after Dresden took a 2-1 lead, Aseko scored a goal on his only shot attempt to make it 2-2 at halftime. From the bench in the second half, he saw his team draw a red card and go up a man. They could not take advantage, however, and the final score was 2-2.

Hannover 96 will host Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday in league play.

Paul Scholl – Karlsruher SC

Scholl was not in the matchday squad for KSC’s 2-1 win over Nürnberg nor for the 3-0 loss against away to Holstein Kiel. There is no sign of him on the injury list as of now.

Karlsruher SC will host 1. FC Magdeburg on Saturday.

Germany – 3. Liga

Max Schmitt is the only player on loan in the 3. Liga.

Max Schmitt – SSV Ulm 1846

Schmitt was the back up goalie for Ulm’s 3-1 loss away to 1.FC Saarbrücken and for the 2-1 home win against Jahn Regensburg.

Ulm will face Hoffenheim II on the road on Sunday.

Germany – Regionalliga

There are two players on loan in the Regionalliga Südwest: Benedikt Wimmer and David Emmanuel.

Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen

Wimmer played a full 90 minutes in two recent local Pokal matches — a 2-0 win against Zuzenhausen and a 4-0 win against FC Grünsfeld. In Regionalliga play, he was on the bench to begin the last two matches. He entered the match against TSG Ballingen in the 55th minute and played the full second half against SV Eintracht-Trier.

Sandhausen will host Kickers Offenbach on Friday.

David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel

Emmanuel started on the bench last weekend for Hessen Kassel and came into the match against TSV Schott Mainz in stoppage time. His team was already up 2-1 and won with that score. He was also on the bench for this weekend’s match against Stuttgarter kickers, but did not make it into the match for Hessen’s 3-0 win.

Hessen Kassel will travel to face SGV Freiburg on Saturday.

Switzerland – Super League

Johnathan Asp Jensen is the only player from the second league on loan to the Swiss Super League.

Johnathan Asp Jensen – Grasshopper

Asp Jensen started for Grasshopper last weekend at home against Lausanne and had a massive game. He assisted the opening goal and scored Grasshopper’s third goal on the way to a big 3-1 home win. His assist was one of five chances created and his goal was one of four shots — all but one on goal.

Grasshopper faced second division foe Bellinzona in the second round of the Swiss Cup. There was not much information available on this match, even on the club’s website. I cannot even tell if Asp Jensen was in the lineup or not. What was available is that they won 1-0 to advance to the Round of 16.

Grasshopper will face Lugano on the road on Saturday.

Austria – Bundesliga

There are two players on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga: Maximilian Hennig and Gibson Adu.

Maximillian Hennig – TSV Hartberg

Hennig started last weekend for Hartberg on the road against SV Ried. He played the full 90 minutes and helped keep the home team off the score sheet. In addition to his help on defense, he recorded an assist in stoppage time to clinch a 2-0 win.

Hennig started on the bench in Hartberg’s home match against Wolfsberger AC. He came in at half time with his team down 2-1. He helped keep a second half shutout but did not get a shot off, nor did he get create any chances for his teammates to shoot. Fortunately his team was able to find an equalizer to salvage a 2-2 draw at home.

Gibson Adu – SCR Altach

Altach and Bayern attempted to make a loan agreement for Gibson Adu, but Transfermarkt has reported this weekend that UEFA has blocked the international move due to the age of Adu. Even though he has been on two loan stints already, he is still only 17. Since those loans were to Unterhaching — which is barely outside Munich — it was allowed to go through. He will turn 18 in February next week, so Bayern could try an international loan potentially in the next transfer window.

Austria – 2. Liga

Mudaser Sedat is the only person on loan to Austria’s second league.

Mudaser Sedat — SKU Armstetten

Sedat was a late loan deal and has landed in the second division of Austria with SKU Armstetten. He made his debut with his new team this weekend, when he came off the bench in the 79th minute. His team was already up 3-0 due to a first half hattrick by a teammate. Nothing changed in his time on the field and the match ended with at 3-0 win.

Armstetten will travel to Vienna to face Austria Wien II on Saturday.

FC Bayern Munich Frauen

There are two players on loan from the women’s team.

Spain – Primera División Femenina

Edna Imade is the only player on loan to Spain’s Primera División Femenina.

Edna Imade – Real Sociedad

Imade started on the bench for Sociedad against Sevilla last weekend. She came off the bench in the second half and attempted five shots in the 32 minutes on the field. Two of the shots were on target, two missed, and one was blocked. She was unable to get a goal, but her team scored another to win 3-0.

Imade started this weekend against at home against Levante. She only had 16 touches — the least of anyone that played the full 90 minutes — but had four shots on the day — two on target and two that missed. She played the full 90 minutes and helped her team to win 2-1 at home.

Sociedad will travel to face Levante Badalona on the road on Saurday.

Brazil – Brasileirão Feminino

Ana Guzmán is the only player on loan to Brazil’s Brasileirão Feminino.

Ana Guzmán – SE Palmerias

Information on Brazilian women’s soccer remains hard to come by. In the last couple weeks Palmerias has 7-0 and 3-0, but information on whether Guzmán played or contributed at all, is unknown.
