Life is short. A footballer's life is even shorter. And at the end of the day, all they want to be doing is playing games. There's nothing better than being out on the football pitch.
Arne Slot has the unenviable task of making those decisions for them. This has become increasingly more difficult as more players have arrived at Anfield.
Now he's got Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz starting games on the bench. Giovanni Leoni and Federico Chiesa unable to make the squad at times.
And there's another Liverpool player who will also be frustrated by his minutes.

Joe Gomez has been at Liverpool for over a decade now. He's the club's longest serving player having started his career at Anfield as a teenager under Brendan Rodgers.
Now 28-years-old, Gomez is a two-time Premier League champion and has also won the Champions League.
But his role has changed over the years. This season, it looks like he's going to be the back-up to Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk.
Longer-term though with Marc Guehi potentially coming in and Giovanni Leoni ready to make a breakthrough, it's going to be more and more difficult for Gomez to play regular minutes.
Even under the current circumstances, Gomez has only played 29 minutes of football so far this season.
AC Milan believe they will sign Joe Gomez from Liverpool
So, it's no surprise that clubs are feeling even more confident about signing the England international from Anfield.
In the summer, AC Milan came very close to completing a deal for Gomez. The Italian giants had agreed a deal with Liverpool but ultimately pulled out of the deal as there was no time for him to complete a medical on deadline day.
That worked out in Liverpool's favour with the Guehi deal also falling through in the final hours.
But long-term, Milan's interest remains in Gomez.
