Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed Zimbabwe will host their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier clash in South Africa.

This comes after reports circulated that the Warriors are set to ditch SA venues in favor of staging the match at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Botswana.

However, Foot Africa broke the news that contrary to rumors, ZIFA executives reached an agreement to stick with a South African stadium.

Now, the crucial encounter will be played at the renowned Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, 10 October 2025.

This will see Zimbabwe’s culture of hosting their home matches on South African soil continue, having staged their last four matches of the AFCON and ongoing World Cup qualifiers in Mzansi.

Meanwhile, Michael Nees’ charges have no chance of qualifying for the global showpiece as they picked up four points from eight matches.

On the other hand, Hugo Broos’ side is in pole position, having accumulated 17 points from eight matches and sitting at the summit of Group C.

Maximum points over their neighbors will see Bafana edge closer to securing their World Cup ticket amid a FIFA probe over the ineligibility of Teboho Mokoena against Lesotho.
