The Wisconsin high school football season is officially at the halfway point and there’s a clear picture of who the top teams are across the Badger State. From powerhouse programs with rich traditions to promising underdogs looking to make a statement, here are the Top 25 teams in Wisconsin, according to Massey.
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here is the latest Wisconsin high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Sep. 23.
1. Arrowhead Warhawks
Arrowhead Warhawks (4-1) entered the 2025 season looking to win their first state crown since 2013 and have started off fast with four wins this season. The Warhawks only loss of the campaign thus far was a 21-17 loss to No. 2 ranked Muskego.
Jacob Siner (45 carries, 484 yards) has been the driving force behind Arrowhead’s offense this season and along with fellow back Jebari Craig Jr. (313 yards). Arrowhead starting quarterback Nolan Hanson (37 of 62 passes, 519 yards) has been solid with pass catchers Logan Crowley (12 catches, 167 yards) and Ryan Heiman (10 catches, 163 yards) leading the way.
The Warhawks are back in action Friday night against Oconomowoc (3-2).
2. Muskego Warriors
The Warriors (4-1) started off last season with a 3-3 record before going the rest of the way 6-2, with Muskego losing to Bay Port, 25-18, in the Division I state championship.
Muskego is off to a much better start and just recently upended top-ranked Arrowhead, 21-17, last week. The Warriors have been playing very well defensively, allowing just 69 points this fall. The Warriors gets back to it this week when they take on Brookfield East (4-1).
3. Franklin Sabers
Aside from the season opening 23-20 win over Catholic Memorial, the Franklin Sabers (5-0) have been otherwise dominant through the opening few weeks of the season.
What hasn’t been a problem is scoring and stopping opponents, as the Sabers are averaging around 40 points per game and holding opposing offenses to 10 a contest. There’s a real chance that Franklin could run the table undefeated the rest of the way.
This Friday night’s contest against a undefeated Kenosha Bradford (5-0) group should be an interesting test for Franklin as they look to remain unbeaten.
4. Hudson Raiders
Hudson (4-0) started off the preseason rankings as Wisconsin’s No. 21 ranked team and have steadily risen up the ranks as the season has progressed along.
What has separated the Raiders from the pack is the ability to win close calls as of late, with Hudson beating clubs like No. 12 New Richmond and No. 21 Stevens Point Area Senior. Things don’t get any easier this week when Hudson takes on No. 15 River Falls on the road.
5. Waunakee Warriors
Rounding out the Top 5 of the rankings is the Warriors, who sits undefeated at 5-0 at the midway point. What has been the backbone of Waunakee this season is the play of their defense, which has only yielded 32 points (6.4 per game).
The Warriors take their show on the road this week when they visit Oregon (1-3) on Friday night.
