Buccaneers' Desmond Watson has new weight revealed after loss from 464 pounds

This is big news.

Buccaneers' Desmond Watson has new weight revealed after loss from 464 pounds originally appeared on The Sporting News

The question was on everyone's minds:

What does Desmond Watson weigh now?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Watson to their practice squad on Tuesday. He had spent the entire offseason with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent out of Florida, but he was released ahead of roster cutdown day.

Watson weighed 464 pounds at Florida, but reports had indicated he was down to 437 with Tampa Bay. Apparently, he hadn't met "milestones" set out for him by GM Jason Licht and the organization, so when he was cut, he didn't even get signed to the practice squad at that time.

But ahead of Week 4 and the Philadelphia Eagles on the schedule, the guy known as the "Tush Push Terminator" now has a contract. He worked out for the Bucs last week and got a contract five days before the Eagles game. It's not clear whether he'll be called up or not to the gameday roster.

What does Desmond Watson weigh after weight loss?

ESPN's Adam Schefter appeared to subtly reveal Watson's new weight when he shared the news of Watson's signing: 449 pounds.

That's 15 pounds lighter than he weighed during the pre-draft process.

It's actually a dozen pounds more than his reported 437 over the summer.

But the way Bucs GM Jason Licht explained it to reporters, they had set "milestones" for Watson. They wouldn't have had to be about weight. They may have been about conditioning.

Watson may have found in his time away from the Bucs a way to keep most of his weight and simply get in better shape.

The Buccaneers will surely place Watson on their official website at some point with a weight listed. But for now, Schefter has informed the football world that it's 449 pounds.
