Sevilla 1-2 Villarreal
Villarreal have continued their strong start to the season with victory over Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. The hosts led at half time courtesy of Tani Oluwaseyi’s first goal of the club, although that was cancelled out by Djibril Sow minutes into the second period. Fortunately for the Yellow Submarine, they got the winner late on as Manor Solomon netted his debut strike, following his summer move from Tottenham Hotspur.
Villarreal are still in third following that result, with Sevilla dropped down to 10th after a third defeat of the season.

Espanyol 2-2 Valencia
Espanyol continued their good recent form with a draw at home to Valencia at the RCDE Stadium. The visitors had led in the first half courtesy of Arnaut Danjuma, but his goal was cancelled out by Leandro Cabrera on the hour mark. Los Che would retake the lead three minutes later when Hugo Duro struck, but in the sixth minute of stoppage time, Javi Puado ensured a share of the spoils.
Espanyol remain in fourth with that point, as Valencia jump up two points to ninth – although they would have been sixth had they held on.

Athletic Club 1-1 Girona
Girona are still yet to win this season, but Michel Sanchez’s side produced an encouraging performance on their way to an impressive draw against Athletic Club. Azzedine Ounahi, signed in the summer from Marseille, struck his first goal for the club on nine minutes, but that was cancelled out by a speculatar strike from Los Leones midfielder Mikel Jauregizar.
Athletic are fifth after that result, while Girona remain rooted to the bottom of the standings.
