SEC Announces Conference Games for Next Four Seasons

Tuesday night the SEC announced the opponents under the new 9-game schedule that will take effect next season.

We learned Monday morning that LSU will play Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Arkansas on an annual basis over the next four years, and now we know the other six schools and locations of games that LSU will play between the 2026 and 2029 seasons.

LSU’s pod of six teams rotating off and on are broken down like so: in 2026 the Tigers will host Alabama, Mississippi State, and Texas, and they will travel to Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Those six schools will rotate off the schedule in 2027, and in that season, LSU will host Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma, and then travel to Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

The opponents and venues for 2026 will reverse in 2028, and the same applies for the 2027 opponents in 2029.

2026: vs. Texas A&M, vs. Alabama, vs. Mississippi State, vs. Texas; @ Arkansas, @ Ole Miss, @ Auburn, @ Kentucky, @ Tennessee

2027: @ Texas A&M, vs. Arkansas, vs. Ole Miss, vs. Missouri, vs. Vanderbilt, vs. Oklahoma, @ Florida, @ Georgia, @ South Carolina

2028: vs. Texas A&M @ Arkansas, @ Ole Miss, vs. Auburn, vs. Kentucky, vs. Tennessee, @ Alabama, @ Mississippi State, @ Texas

2029: @ Texas A&M, vs. Arkansas, vs. Ole Miss, vs. Florida, vs. Georgia, vs. South Carolina, @ Missouri, @ Oklahoma, @ Vanderbilt

Couple things stand out to me:

1. LSU will have to go to Oxford in consecutive seasons, but they also get Texas A&M at home this year and next.
2. The 2026 home slate is gonna be FUN: Clemson, Bama, Texas, and Texas A&M. There’s also one more non-conference game needed to fill out the home slate in ‘26
3. That said, the 2027 home slate is kinda meh. At least it somewhat evens out in ‘29, when Florida and Georgia make the return trip
4. Remember, LSU is also supposed to host SMU as part of the ‘28 home schedule. Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, SMU. Pretty good
5. And one last glimpse down the road: for the 2029 home schedule don’t forget to include Arizona State in that number. Exciting stuff coming to Tiger Stadium over the next couple of seasons.
