The Los Angeles Chargers and New York Giants have been tied to NFL history involving quarterbacks before and this Sunday, they will add another chapter.

On Tuesday, the Giants made it official that Russell Wilson has been benched and first-round pick Jaxson Dart will make his first career start. That adds an exciting element to a game between a team that is 3-0 and a team that is 0-3.

Of course, the Chargers and Giants are tied to one of the league's most infamous stories. In 2004, Eli Manning was drafted No. 1 overall despite informing the Chargers he did not want to play for them. Later in the draft, Manning was traded to the Giants for the quarterback they had selected with the No. 4 overall pick, Philip Rivers.

The deal ended up working well for both teams, though the Giants were the team that won two Super Bowls. However, the Chargers have not lost to the Giants since that trade was made, going 5-0 in that time span.

Jaxson Dart will look to inject new life into the Giants' offense, which has been quite ugly, to say the least, in the team's first three games.

Taken with the 25th overall pick in the first round of this year's draft out of Mississippi (ironically the same school Manning went to), Dart has been inserted into games for a couple of plays this season, but has yet to attempt a pass. But he threw for nearly 12,000 yards and 81 touchdowns in college while gaining another 1,541 yards on the ground with 14 more scores.

At 6-foot-2, Dart looks like the prototypical NFL quarterback, but he will go up against a feisty defense that boasts players like Derwin James and Daiyan Henley, even if it doesn't have a healthy Khalil Mack.

The rookie will have his work cut out for him in Week 4 as the Chargers get the first opportunity to roll out the welcome mat for him.
