The New York Giants have made a change at quarterback after just three games into the 2025 season.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday that the Giants are benching Russell Wilson in favor of 2025 first-round pick Jaxson Dart. Wilson tossed two interceptions and completed just 56% of his passes in New York's 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, which dropped the Giants to 0-3 on the year.

Despite signing Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, New York used the No.25 overall pick in April's draft on Dart, who was the second quarterback taken in the draft after the Tennessee Titans' Cam Ward.

With Wilson struggling, the Giants will turn to Dart as they look to salvage their season. However, the road is only getting tougher for Brian Daboll's squad, which will host the Los Angeles Chargers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday in Week 4.

Los Angeles is off to a 3-0 start in Jim Harbaugh's second season, and though quarterback Justin Herbert has been tremendous, the defense has been the catalyst of their success.

Jesse Minter's unit ranks top-ten in points and yards per game allowed through three weeks, and has also tallied ten sacks, which ranks sixth in the league.

Playing against a formidable Chargers' defense in his NFL debut is a tough beat for Dart, who did have an impressive preseason with three touchdowns and no interceptions on a 68% completion rate.

Dart has all the tools and talent to be New York's eventual franchise quarterback, but the Ole Miss product could be in for a long afternoon on Sunday. Los Angeles seems poised to take the next step as a legitimate contender in the AFC this year, and they have all the pieces to give Dart and the Giants a lot of trouble.
