TNA invades NXT

It finally happened.

Just one week ago, TNA wrestlers were taking to social media to make clear they were tired of how NXT has run roughshod over the organization, with its talent seeing much more success in head-to-head matchups. That’s without even mentioning repeated verbal disrespect from the likes of, say, Grayson Waller, who called them all a bunch of flops.

Threats were made, and an NXT Champion vs. TNA Champion winner takes all match being booked for this week seemed to set the stage for, well, something. Then, early on this week’s show a backstage segment saw Robert Stone talking to General Manager Ava via cell phone because the boss wasn’t actually going to be in the building. He was asking why there were TNA wrestlers walking around backstage and if they were invited.

She never got the chance to respond before it cut out.

When the main event matchup finally came, TNA stars like Moose surrounded the ring but out in the crowd, making their presence felt. While the match was ongoing, Mike Santana also showed up and hopped the barricade to get on commentary.

Naturally, this eventually led to discord and a disqualification — keeping both championships at home with Femi and Williams so as not to disturb plans for No Mercy and Bound for Glory — and it resulted in a full scale invasion from there:

Even Matt Cardona got in there to make his long awaited return to WWE, though likely not in the form or fashion anyone would have imagined.

Either way, the promotional war seems to have finally kicked off in a major way.

You here for it?
