According to the federation's statutes, matches may only be relocated abroad with prior approval of UEFA.
The Spanish La Liga wants to hold the league match between Villarreal and Barcelona in Miami on December 20, while the Italian Serie A match AC Milan v Como could take place in Australia due to the winter Olympics in February.
Although the relocation of Bundesliga matches is not currently a topic being discussed in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen's CEO Fernando Carro recently suggested that the Super Cup game could be held abroad.
