There's a lot to be positive about after a win, here's why Colorado football can continue their momentum against BYU.
The Colorado Buffaloes stormed past the Wyoming Cowboys last Saturday to improve to 2-2, earning their most dominant win of the 2025 season in the process.
Next up for Deion Sanders' team is a string of ranked opponents beginning with No. 24 BYU in a rematch of last year's Alamo Bowl. The Cougars, fresh off a dominant road victory over East Carolina, present the most challenging test the Buffaloes have faced so far this season. If the Buffaloes need to pull off the upset, they'll need a lot to go right and hope in their hearts.
Luckily, you're on the "Sunny Side," a world filled with Sincere Brown go-routes and positivity about the Colorado Buffaloes.
Kaidon Salter returns to form
He's back!
Kaidon Salter got the nod as the starter against Wyoming, and he looked absolutely fantastic. He was able to use his legs to scramble and create plays out of structure, keeping the defense guessing and off balance. In his first two starts, Salter struggled with accuracy, especially throwing on the run, but those issues were nonexistent against Wyoming. He led the offense with efficiency that they'll need moving forward.
Defensive line showing up
Colorado's defensive line has gone through ebbs and flows through the first four weeks of the season, but it showed out in last week's matchup. Arden Walker had an especially great game, recording 1.5 sacks, including one for a safety. After Alex McPherson's breakout in the Houston game, the Buffaloes' stars up front are beginning to take shape as they head into their most brutal stretch of the season.
Omarion Miller's breakout game
Omarion Miller finally appeared in the offense's game plan last week, commanding the attention of the defense with his blazing fast speed. The Buffaloes' offense has been limited due to a lack of explosiveness and stars that the defense must respect, but that tide looks to be turning with Miller getting involved and Brown taking the top off the defense. It won't be as easy as Wyoming, with BYU toting one of the best offenses in the nation, but the CU offense looks to be turning a corner.
Winning in all three phases
Between Quentin Gibson breaking out as the Buffaloes' returner and Damon Greaves' excellent punting, the Buffaloes' special teams have been nearly perfect through the first four weeks. While the third phase of the game is often overlooked, this Colorado team tends to play in close games. When it comes down to slim margins, the Buffaloes should have a leg up in those moments.
Undefeated in the Ralphie VII era
Ralphie VII made her debut against Wyoming, welcoming one of the best traditions in college football back to Folsom Field. After an electric run, Colorado stormed out to a victory, and if you're as superstitious as I, then you might be noticing a trend. The fourth home game in five weeks, the Buffaloes will get another boost from Ralphie VII before their Alamo Bowl revenge.
