Prior to Texas football’s kickoff versus Ohio State to start the season, the college football world was on fire for the program, head coach Steve Sarkisian, and newly minted full-time starting quarterback, redshirt sophomore Arch Manning.
Then Texas lost to Ohio State. A few weeks passed by, Texas snagged some easy wins versus lower-ranking programs, and Manning continued to not live up to remarkably high expectations while under-achieving in judging his performances against more manageable ones. But Texas’ most recent win over Sam Houston State might have changed that. Or at least that’s seemingly the narrative judging by The Ringer’s latest SEC ranking.
