Charlie Raeburn, former coach of Olympic champion swimmer David Wilkie, dies aged 80.
Charlie Raeburn, former coach of Olympic champion swimmer David Wilkie, has died aged 80.
Raeburn, who worked as physical education teacher, was a board member of national agency sportscotland and worked with Wilkie during his glittering career.
He also worked at local government level and was a member of a Scottish parliament cross-party group on sport.
Wilkie won gold in the 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke silver at the 1976 Montreal Games and also took silver in the 200m event at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
The swimmer, who died of cancer last year aged 70, was also a multi-world and European champion.
