See who the Golfweek staff is picking to win the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

With less than 24 hours to go, the wait is almost over. The 2025 Ryder Cup begins Friday morning at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

Team USA, led by Captain Keegan Bradley, looks to defend home soil and recapture the coveted trophy, while Captain Luke Donald and Team Europe will attempt to win the international grudge match on foreign land for the first time in more than a decade.

Here's a look at who Golfweek staff predicts will win the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

Golfweek picks and predictions for the 2025 Ryder Cup

Adam Schupak, Senior Writer

Pick: Europe | Why? It will be close and wouldn’t shock me if we were to see a tie with Europe retaining the golden chalice. Luke Donald has used the force to crack the code on winning on the road and returns 11 of 12 players, swapping out Hojgaard twins. That experience, combined with the fact that his team feels better and deeper than two years ago, makes me think that Europe can win an away game for the first time since 2012.

Pick: USA | Why? The Americans have a chip on their shoulder with the big loss in Rome, and though the Europeans bring back almost all of their team from that beatdown, the USA has a captain in Keegan Bradley who has rallied the red, white and blue together, unlike some past American squads. That will pay dividends for a close win at Bethpage Black.

Pick: Europe | Why? It’s hard to bet against the crowd at Bethpage, but Europe has left nothing to chance this week. They arrived early, won the pre-match conversation and will likely be the team with the least amount of drama. That’s enough to quiet the crowd.

Todd Kelly, Assistant Managing Editor

Pick: USA | Why? Is there a sports contest where home field matters more? That, plus the Americans having the world's most dominant player in Scottie Scheffler makes it difficult to pick the visitors. This won't go the way of the 19-9 rout at Whistling Straits in 2021, but expect the home side to hold serve to keep the 2012 Euro squad as still the last to win on foreign soil.

David Dusek, Senior Writer

Pick: USA | Why? Europe talks about chemistry, bonding, and shared dinners, but chemistry won't mean much when the crowd at Bethpage is screaming in your ear and crossing the line of sportsmanship. The Americans have a blend of experience and new talent, home soil, and just enough scar tissue from Rome to play with a chip on their shoulders.

Jason Lusk, Travel Editor

Pick: Europe | Why? If the Europeans talk too much about bonding, the Americans talk too much about homefield advantage. Fans don’t hit a shot. The Americans have lost three times at home, one of those in New York, since the Europeans last suffered a similar fate. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, but ask this year’s Chicago White Sox or Tennessee Titans about home-field advantage.

Tim Schmitt, Managing Editor

Pick: Europe | Why? Maybe it's the old high school basketball in me, but I still believe in camaraderie and intangibles. It's easy now, after getting the financial deal they were looking for and all the perks, for Americans to say they want to be team players, but it certainly feels like the Europeans have each other's backs at crunch time. If the Bethpage crowds get edgy, the Americans might wilt.

Nick Stavas, Digital Producer

Pick: USA | Why? The European side has more star power, but when you look at the actual performances on the golf course over the past year, these teams are pretty even. The New York crowd will surely play its part, but more importantly, the course setup is going to heavily favor the Americans, so I'm rolling with the home side to win the Ryder Cup for the sixth straight time.
