Real Madrid have been at odds with the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) and La Liga for some time now, regarding their anger at refereeing “inconsistencies” involving their players and rival stars. And they have made this clear during a new segment posted by RMTV.

As per Marca, Real Madrid TV started their segment by introducing their claims, which involve Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

“Day after day we see examples of how Spanish referees handle expulsions. In these six matchdays, a Real Madrid player has been unfairly sent off, another Barcelona player has been pardoned two expulsions and the last case, Koke’s aggression that they overlooked in the last Atlético de Madrid-Rayo Vallecano match. Situations that explain why Real Madrid is the team with the worst balance of expulsions in La Liga in the 21st century.”

RMTV highlighted Dean Huijsen’s red card against Real Sociedad as a wrong decision, as they cited the CTA’s opinion that the decision was wrong – although the dismissal was not overturned by the Spanish Football Federation. And to highlight alleged inconsistencies, they addressed two incidents involving Raphinha.

“The difference with Barcelona is an anomaly that is difficult to understand, although seeing what we see on the pitch in every game nothing surprises us anymore. We have seen inexplicable situations such as the expulsion of Huijsen at Anoeta. Gil Manzano showed him a direct red card and the VAR did not intervene despite the fact that the Real Madrid player was not the last man and that the play was not clear for a goal. The CTA itself recognised the mistake.

“Meanwhile, in Barcelona’s games, Raphinha did not see red twice – first for a very hard tackle on a Mallorca player, in which the VAR did not enter either, and last weekend he did not see a second yellow card after pushing a Getafe player without the ball being in play.”

RMTV fume at Koke’s non-red card during Atleti-Rayo

Real Madrid TV also expressed their displeasure at Atleti captain Koke Resurreccion avoiding a dismissal during Wednesday’s match against Rayo Vallecano, despite appearing to grab the neck of Augusto Batalla – and they referenced Vinicius Junior’s red card in last season’s trip to Valencia as a similar incident.

“At the Metropolitano, Koke did not see red after grabbing the Rayo goalkeeper by the neck and throwing him to the ground. The on-field referee did not send him off and the VAR did not enter, something very different to what happened with Vinicius last season at Mestalla for a similar action.”
