Jalen Montonati, a four-star small forward in the 2026 class, has committed to Oklahoma State, he told Rivals.

The 6-foot-7 senior out of Owasso High School (OK) is the son of former Oklahoma State standout Brian Montonati.

Montonati, a two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, averaged 23.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for Owasso during his junior season.

Montonati, who won a gold medal with USA Basketball’s U16 team, received over 20 offers throughout the recruitment process. Most notably, Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, and others.

Montonati is ranked as the No. 53 overall player in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 20 small forward and the No. 1 player in Oklahoma.

He is Oklahoma State’s first commitment in the 2026 class.

Scouting Montonati

Here is a scouting summary of Montonati from Rivals’ Jamie Shaw:

“Jalen Montonati’s thing is his shooting, specifically his movement shooting. Running around the perimeter hunting space to get a clean look. And when his shot is falling, he can be an effective foot spacer, someone who the defense has to stay attached to no matter where he is on the floor. The thing with Montonati is consistency. His production over the summer has been very fluid. He has good positional size and plays with a lot of confidence. Montonati has international experience with USA basketball and has won Oklahoma’s Gatorade Player of the Year award. Montonati needs to continue developing his self creation, creating advantages off the bounce. He also needs to better find leverage on the defensive end. The vision with Montonati is as a shooter, someone who pulls defensive gravity.”
