The biggest game of the season thus far is here!
The LSU Tigers enter the SEC gauntlet as they visit Oxford. Ole Miss will be no easy match up and Brian Kelly vs. Lane Kiffin is sure to deliver fireworks.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers, team totals and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season. What will this week bring?
Last season we ended with a negative record for the first time, but still ended up positive because of some big swings we took odds wise (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17, 2024: 16-20) and we hope to do better this time around. We hope to continue the season strong. (5-7 in 2025)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold(ish) predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 LSU Offense OVER 50% in 3rd Down Completions
This is going to be a tricky one seeing the team complete this will be dictated by the style of it and I do think they can hit it. Provided the LSU offense plays to its standard.
The important key here will be if Durham and Nussmeier are a full go. Seeing them down could be costly so we can feel it out early, but if they are good, 3rd and short could be on the menu all night.
2 Whit Weeks Strip Sack + Scoop and Score +10000
2 Garrett Nussmeier OVER 248.5 Passing Yards AND 2+ Touchdowns (-110, FanDuel)
Back the bus and take this combo parlay and believe in your QB! Expect some quick and dynamic passing in this one. Ole Miss looked shaky vs. Arkansas and Kentucky, winning by one score and that secondary can be had. Add a hopefully healthier Nuss and we could see a break out game by the star QB.
Hitting this will prove tricky, but I do believe LSU has the offensive play makers to make it tough on Ole Miss in coverage. Between the receivers, tight ends and backs, I like a combo of them to find the end zone and get enough YAC to help this not only get the over in yardage, but also add the TD passes.

3 Game Total OVER 56.5 (-110, FanDuel)
Points, points, points, even with the concern with these two offenses, expect some fireworks. The teams have definitely played subpar up to this point, but with Ole Miss going with an inexperienced QB in Kiffin’s offense, but a dynamic one and we know what the Nuss Buss brings, I expect a lot of points.
Kiffin told us to take the over too, by the way, so expect a total point fest. The skill players are good and these offenses should cook.
Final score prediction:LSU 31-27 Ole Miss
