“Going to beat them” – Ian Wright predicts Brighton vs Chelsea this weekend

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright has made his prediction for Chelsea’s game against Brighton this weekend.

Things have not been great for Chelsea across the last three games. They’ve lost to Bayern Munich, then against a poor Manchester United team, and then they struggled to beat League One side Lincoln City on Tuesday night after finding themselves 1-0 down at half time.

EXCLUSIVE! Cole Palmer now has NEW injury and will be out for a set time!

It’s caused a bit of a reaction amongst the fan base again and also in the media, with former Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel slamming some of the recruitment decisions that the club made over the summer, leaving them weak at the back and in goal still.

One Chelsea insider has even hinted at issues between Enzo Maresca and the board room after he didn’t get what he wanted in the summer window, which incidentally is basically the same thing that Mikel is speaking about above.

Chelsea really need a win this weekend against Brighton you feel, to calm all this noise down for a bit at least.

But Ian Wright thinks they will lose!

Wrighty’s predictions

Ian Wright on his podcast.

‘Brighton are going to beat them,’ Ian Wright said during the Super 6 section of the Stick to Football podcast. ‘I would rather go with Brighton from what I’ve seen.’

But fellow football pundit Jamie Carragher, though, believes Chelsea will get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

‘I’m going for a Chelsea win and they’ll win 2-1,’ the former Liverpool defender added.

Surprised at Carragher

He’s not often positive about Chelsea so I was surprised to see his prediction in favour of us for once.

Let’s hope the former Liverpool man is correct and Ian Wright is wrong this weekend, because we really need to bounce back on Saturday.
