Joe Burrow has broken his silence since suffering a turf toe injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Joe Burrow has broken his silence following the turf toe injury he suffered Sept. 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback posted three pictures of himself, via Instagram, at what appeared to be Paycor Stadium with the caption, "This game will break your heart. See you soon."

Burrow underwent surgery to repair his Grade 3 turf toe injury at Birmingham's Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. Dr. Norman Waldrop performed the procedure.

The 28-year-old is expected to miss most of the season. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Sept. 17 he wasn't closing the door on Burrow possibly returning this season.

Burrow was in the team's locker room Sept. 22 with his foot wrapped in a cast and using a rolling scooter, attending team meetings three days after having successful surgery.
